Adirondack Day Trip

Blue Mountain Lake & Raquette Lake

By Marnie Crane (with help from my mom!) May 10, 2017
Up for a road trip? Experience the Blue Mountain and Raquette Lake Area in one day!

This scenic road trip is something many people do in one day. The drive offers lots of great scenery and pitstops in small towns along the way. Take your time and take it all in. The itinerary assumes you'll start in Saranac Lake and head towards Tupper Lake.

Stop #1 - food! Saranac Lake coffee at Origin  and croissant to go from the Left Bank Cafe

Stop #2 - morning visit the Adirondack Experience (formerly the Adirondack Museum) in Blue Mountain Lake for the morning; this stop should be a couple hours, if not more!

Stop #3 - lunch option - eat at Well Dressed Food at the Adirondack Experience or take a scenic cruise with Raquette Lake Navigation (arrange in advance!) - on certain days, they offer lunch, brunch or dinner option if you prefer

Stop #4 - afternoon visit to the Great Camp Sagamore (check hours of operation to ensure this will fit within your day!)

The drive from Stop#1 to Stop #4 is approximately an hour and half so plan accordingly!

Thank you to my mom, Marjorie Cochran, for this idea! She's the owner/innkeeper at Kiwassa Lake Bed & Breakfast and passes this itinerary along to guests quite often. None of the businesses listed have paid or sponsored this article. We just like local!
